Welcome to my new website.
I decided it was time to rethink the presentation of my work from the ground up. Being as I am a notorious eclectic, I wanted to make this website focus primarily on my fine art practice. This has allowed me to go into greater depth with the choices of what I want to show and say with regards to my core practice, and elaborate on many of the underlying ideas.
As many of you know, I have been working for many years as a portrait artist. Initially I used portraiture as my method of developing a very solid technique, which allowed me to express myself in a much more liberated way when it came to my forays into the creative unknown. Technique has always been an important element in my artistic discipline. I have always loved working with the portrait, and the face and body occur as one of my primary subjects even in my personal fine art practice. I have decided to separate my portrait work from my pure fine art portfolio in order to give each of the disciplines the space that they deserve, and I will shortly be unveiling a new website devoted entirely to my portrait practice.
In continuation with the idea of eclecticism, I will also be showing examples of my 3D work which is heavily focused on digital sculpting. The digital sculpting has been growing greatly in strength lately and is beginning to tie in more and more with my painting. I will be presenting many examples of finished work here on this blog in the upcoming weeks.
I am very excited to show so much of my new and older work here, and in many instances it is the first time that these works will have been seen anywhere.
I invite all comments and am always open to the idea of showing or collaborating with fellow creative souls.
